What Coaching My Clients Has Taught Me About Myself
Five years before the pandemic changed the way we worked, I made one of the most important pivots of my life. I left an organization I'd loved—because I no longer recognized myself within it.
Though I had poured over a decade of sweat, soul, and strategy into that space, the last eight years had become suffocating. I stayed longer than I should have, longing for the good years, the leadership I respected, and the opportunities that helped me grow.
I had outgrown the environment—and that alone was enough.
When I left, I didn’t know it then, but I was leading by example. Even though I didn’t see anyone watching, they were. The ripple effect had already begun.
Fast forward five years and a pandemic later, and I’m watching many of my coaching clients come to the same crossroads I once stood at:
Brilliant women.
Masters of their craft.
Tired of being the only voice of reason in rooms full of leadership that’s too fearful to do what’s right.
Exhausted from fighting systems they’re trying to help heal.
Feeling like life has more to offer—and wondering if they’re finally ready to go get it.
These are my people.
Not because I had to market to them—but because they are me, just earlier.
These women don’t need to be saved—they need to be seen. They need space to dream aloud, without shame or shoulds.
What we do together is less a program and more a liberation plan.
That plan looks like:
1:1 and group coaching focused on clarity, alignment, and reclaiming joy
Strategy to transition into entrepreneurship or pivot to aligned leadership roles
Creating income streams that support their peace and purpose
And perhaps most transformative of all—luxury destination retreats that remove them from the noise, and place them in environments designed for elevation
Luxury retreats are not indulgent escapes. When curated with purpose, they are the most strategic act of self-care and leadership development.
For my clients—and for myself—retreats have become the catalyst.
They allow us to:
Think clearly
Rest deeply
Plan boldly
Return changed
What I’ve found over time is that the most effective transformational container I provide is not a digital course or a coaching workbook—it’s being together, in-person, somewhere that holds beauty and peace as standard. Luxury, when personalized, is medicine.
As a retreat planner and host, I’ve also seen the difference between those who try to do it all themselves—and those who allow help.
When a retreat host is exhausted behind the scenes, it shows.
When they're stressed, juggling spreadsheets, running sound checks, and dealing with missed airport pickups, their presence dims—and so does the power of their offer.
The hosts with the highest client satisfaction and the most repeat bookings are the ones who know when to stay in their zone of genius and let a strategist like me handle the rest.
Because it only takes one slip-up, one missed detail, one moment of public tension in the age of social media—to tarnish what took years to build.
